Proposed Site for Higher Grounds Children’s Center
This 3D image depicts the Children’s Center we plan to build on the piece of land donated by HGMI founders.
We intend to build the home with a family residential setting in mind. This would enable children living in each apartment to experience the feeling of living as family.
Ground floor Block A has a multipurpose hall, kitchen and store, sanctuary, indoor games room, two prayer/study rooms, and 2 bathrooms. Block B is an office area with 2 offices, a reception, a board room, filing room and 2 bathrooms. There will also be a parking area and an outdoor basketball hoop.
Floors 2 to 4 has 24 bedrooms with a capacity of 144 kids. Each floor has a study/prayer room, small kitchen, lounge, 3 toilets and 3 showers (separately), including a penthouse on 4th floor.
We immediately need a perimeter wall, and a borehole for adequate water supply for construction and for future use at the Center.
We request that you consider partnering with us to realize this dream.
Supporting Naivasha Children’s Home
My family has been involved with this Children’s Home in Naivasha since 2017. It is under the care of two ladies; Purity who was orphaned as a teenager and is now a single mother of 3, and Sarah who is a single mother of 2 grown children.
Purity and Sarah have struggled to care of the 95 children under them in a simple rented facility. We support them with food items, clothes, school supplies, and offsetting school fees arrears whenever we can. Ben has also been guiding them on administrative and record keeping related issues.
In 2018, we bought a motorbike to assist in transportation needs of the home. Due to food shortage, in January 2021 HGMI rented one acre piece of land for farming in order to avert food crisis. We intend to do this every year since the produce was quite encouraging. We also ship clothes, school supplies, and hygiene items to the home.
We have also purchased a smartphone and Bluetooth enabled speaker for the home through which Ben preaches to the children during their Sunday services. We also hold weekly long-distance Bible Study every Saturday using Discipleship Workbook Pathway material donated to them by PIPES International.
Currently, talks on adopting the home as our ministries branch are at an advanced stage. Should this happen, the huge burden on the two women of running the home will greatly be eased. HGMI founders are also working hard in order to save and purchase land in Naivasha to move these children from the rental facility they are currently in.
Partner with us in helping these wonderful angels.
